Active Citizens? by Marcus Swain

The 300 Health Education class has been investigating a range of Ethical dilemmas that are evident in New Zealand society. The students are on a journey to make sense of their environment and those stakeholders who operate in it. They are piecing together the jigsaw of accepted standards, contrary views and individual and collective behaviours that are influenced by the person’s own views, those which they associate with and society at large. Their Health Promotion tasks will attempt to improve the well-being of a disadvantaged group by minimising the harmful factors and maximising the positive or protective factors. It is through this process they will be empowered to be an active global citizen. By Marcus Swain
